Launch of The BAG, a new architecture and design-focused gallery located at Bestor Architecture in Los Angeles. The inaugural event featured photography from three Julius Shulman Institute Excellence in Photography awardees: Victoria Sambunaris (2020), Lee Bey (2021) and James Florio (2022).

Regarding Paul R. Williams: A Photographer's View, by Janna Ireland

Ingalill had the honor of contributing a chapter to the book by Janna Ireland. Her chapter, titled ‘Paul R. Williams: Beyond Style’, provides a biographical overview of the trail-blazing architect and is a rumination on a remarkable career that shows us a way forward: sensitivity to each client, each project, and each community, designing beautiful spaces not just for the individual few, but for the greater public.
Located on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles with a focus on exhibitions that celebrate the contributions of women and underrepresented voices providing diverse perspectives on architecture.
Our Role: Founder and director of WUHO gallery, and produced over 100 exhibitions. Established vision, identified and curated programming, managed operations, coordinated installations and events, and supervised outreach.
Façade consultant on environmentally responsive installation using thermobimetal, a bimetallic sheet material consisting of two different metals that expand at different rates as they are heated. This causes the ‘petals’ of the installation to open and close passively with the movement of the sun.
Our Role: Consultant on project by DoSu Studio Architecture, with Matthew Melnyk as structural engineer.
Exhibition and book launch of work by Dutch photographer Désirée van Hoek who collaborated with citizens of Los Angeles’ Skid Row to visualize their stories.

Urban-research studio for the Whau River, bisecting Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Led by Kathy Waghorn, University of Auckland, with Teddy Cruz, Professor at UCSD, the exhibition was designed and curated by Kathy Waghorn and featured student and faculty work.

Ingalill contributed the introduction to this beautiful book that celebrates the work of Polynesian artists from Le Centre des Métiers d'Art de la Polynésie Française in Papeete, Tahiti, an educational art institution whose mission is the theoretical and practical training of artists and craftsmen in traditional and modern artistic disciplines and research specific to Polynesian and Oceanic cultural heritage. This publication accompanied the exhibition MANAVA at The Museum of Tahiti and Her Islands (2013), which travelled to WUHO in Los Angeles in 2014. The exhibition was the result of a yearlong workshop conducted by Alexander Lee. The book features the work of 50 artists from the exhibition.
The first retrospective of this pioneering designer’s work, the exhibition led to Deborah Sussman’s work being archived by Getty and LACMA. Exhibition design by Barbara Bestor and Bestor Architecture, curated by Catherine Gudis, Thomas Kracauer, Shannon Starkey. Best of Entertainment & Culture, L.A. Times.

As Frank Lloyd Wright’s principal photographer, Guerrero’s photographs have been featured in major publications by and about Wright. This WUHO exhibition helped establish the archive for the PBS documentary, “American Masters: Pedro E. Guerrero: A Photographer’s Journey,” and was curated by Dr. Emily Bills.

Documenting resiliency across the American landscape, the installation explores representational techniques for water fluctuation. For the exhibition, Woodbury University’s WUHO gallery in Hollywood was flooded with 6” of water. Designed and curated by Jennifer Bonner.
