  • Co-Principal, FAIA, Dean Emerita

    Ingalill Wahlroos-Ritter is an architect, educator, and façade consultant. She served as Dean of Woodbury School of Architecture from 2016-2021 and has taught at Yale, Cornell, the Bartlett (UCL), and SCI-Arc.

    Ingalill has over 27 years’ experience in project supervision and construction management executing high-profile, complex, multi-disciplinary projects at all organizational levels, and is a skilled façade consultant specializing in sustainable building technologies on internationally recognized projects throughout the world. She has collaborated on multiple award-winning projects including as façade consultant on Bloom with DoSu Architects, the Portland Aerial Tramway with AGPS, the Centre Pompidou exhibition, with Morphosis, and as Project Architect for the Corning Museum of Glass with Smith-Miller + Hawkinson.

    Elevated to AIA College of Fellows in 2018, Ingalill is recipient the 2016 AIA California Council Educator Award, the 2018 AIA|LA Presidential Educator of the Year Award, and has been recognized by DesignIntelligence as one of the nation’s Most Admired Educators in Architecture and Design in 2018 and 2019. She currently serves as Vice-President/President-elect of Architecture for Communities Los Angeles (ACLA), and Chair of NCARB’s Education Committee.

    Ingalill is also founder and director of WUHO, an art and architecture gallery celebrating social justice-focused design. With a deep knowledge of social justice-focused creative organizations, she brings a unique blend of vision, strategic thinking and heart to every project.

  • Co-Principal, Dipl. Ing. Arch.

    Roland Wahlroos-Ritter is an architect and co-principal of W-ROAD. Passionate about sustainability and community-oriented design innovation, his professional and academic work focuses on collaborative environments between architects, engineers and fabricators. Current research is directed towards the design possibilities of heavy timber and mass timber construction in tall buildings.

    Roland Wahlroos-Ritter has been actively engaged in academic research, publishing and teaching for over 22 years. He has taught at numerous academic institutions internationally including Cornell University, Bartlett School of Architecture, TU Vienna, SCI-Arc and is currently teaching at USC School of Architecture.

    His leadership qualities and competencies include innovative design development and implementation, targeted design research, strategic planning, data analysis and monitoring, inclusive team building and program management.
